Join us at V4 Hackathon #V4hack2018 to face the challenge: re-invent healthcare and well-being with IoT solutions.
We hack hardware, build apps/mobile apps, get fed, compete for prizes and most importantly – meet new people and scout for teammates to work on new or current projects. You will be supported by mentors onsite to assist with your development.
The Healthcare and IoT themed AT&T Hackathon is a technology event designed for attendees interested in coding apps or hacking hardware solutions.

With respect of occurrence of civilization diseases which is highest ever we have focused the master topic at improving quality of human life and health. If you select the master topic (Healthcare, improving quality of life), we provide comprehensive support including medical experts to consult, corresponding data sets and telemedicine appliances together with sensors to measure and collect data.
Since we consider hackathon event to be a promotion of freedom in creativity contestants are welcome to choose any topic within IoT. Selection of a topic will not have any impact on the final evaluation.

The 2018 V4 Hackathon, organized by AT&T Global Network Services Slovakia, s.r.o., a limited liability company existing under the laws of the Slovak Republic, with its registered address at Einsteinova 24, Bratislava, 851 01, Slovak Republic, Identification Number (ICO): 36 232 785, registered in the Commercial Register of District Court Bratislava I, Section Sro, File No. 22504/B (“AT&T”), will take place on 26-27 October 2018, in Kosice, Slovak Republic (“Contest”). The administrator and sponsor of the Contest is AT&T (“Sponsor”). These Official Rules are concluded between Entrant (as defined below) and the Sponsor.
The Contest is available to Entrants under the conditions of these Official Rules. The term “Entrant” as used in these Official Rules refers to each individual that submits a Submission (as defined below) whether individually or as a member of a team and collectively to each team that submits a Submission. Entrants must be registered for the Contest before the start time indicated above and must be physically present at Technická Univerzita v Košiciach, Boženy Němcovej 7, 042 00 Košice, Slovak Republic, on both 26 October 2018 and 27 October 2018 in order to participate in the Contest. The period between 26 October 2018 and 27 October 2018 will be referred to as the “Contest Period”. Registration is free. Entrants can register at: www.hackyourfuture.eu. Registration must be received by 25 October 2018 at the latest. Entrants can either register as an individual, or as a team. If registering as a team, the names of all members of the team must be registered. The Entrant will be asked to create a mobile application that is sustainable on a tablet or smartphone device (collectively, “Submission”). At an appointed time allocated to the Entrant during the Contest Period, the Entrant will be asked to, within 3 minutes, demonstrate the Submission and provide an oral presentation to the judges describing why the Submission will be successful (“Pitch”). The number of Entrants selected to provide the Pitch to the judges may be limited due to time constraints and shall be determined at the discretion of the judges. Only coding for the Submission completed during the Contest Period will be considered by the judges. Any additional requirements concerning Submissions will be provided to the Entrant during the Contest.
The Contest is open to anyone. Employees, officers and directors of the Sponsor, or any company providing technical support at the event for the Submission and any prize supplier, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates and their advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies (“Contest Parties”) are not eligible to enter the Contest. Immediate family members (as defined below) and Household members (as defined below) of such individuals are also not eligible to enter the Contest. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, step-parents, legal guardians, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. “Household members” shall mean those people who share the same residence at least three months a year. In the event that the winning Submission is submitted by an Entrant who has registered, formed at or during the event or presented as a team, any and all applicable cash prizes relating to such Entrant will be split evenly among all team members.
The judges and/or the Sponsor reserve the right to disqualify, at any time, any Submission or Entrant that they determine, at their sole and absolute discretion, as not meeting the eligibility requirements under these Official Rules, applicable laws or any other requirements under these Official Rules. The Submissions will be judged by a panel of judges based on the following equally weighted criteria: (1) originality of idea; (2) ability to clearly articulate the details of the application; (3) level of difficulty of technical implementation. The judges and the Sponsor reserve the right to terminate the Contest and not to award any prize if, at their sole and absolute discretion, they do not receive a sufficient number of eligible or qualified Submissions for the Contest. In the event that more than one Submission is received with the same or nearly identical idea, only the first such Submission presented to the judges will be eligible.
By registering for the Contest, the Entrant agrees to grant the Sponsor and its designees a sub-licensable and transferable license to use the Submission, either in its original form, or in a form edited by the Sponsor or its designees, in connection with the Contest for promotional and/or advertising purposes, worldwide, unlimited as to time, volume and method of use in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, without limitation and without the payment of any compensation, notification, permission or other consideration to the Entrant. Except as expressly provided herein, nothing in these Official Rules may be construed as expressly or impliedly transferring any rights of ownership, of any party’s products, technology or intellectual property, including (but not limited to) any party’s copyrights or registered trademarks. The Entrant is not to use either Sponsor’s name or intellectual property, for any purpose without the express agreement of the Sponsor in writing.
As part of the Contest, the Entrant will be given access to the Sponsor’s and/or its affiliates’ APIs (“AT&T’s APIs”), strictly for the purpose of enabling the Entrant to develop applications that are part of the Entrant’s Submission. At all times, the APIs are and will remain the proprietary intellectual property of AT&T (defined below), and the Entrant agrees not to use AT&T’s APIs for any purpose, other than developing applications as part of the Entrant’s Submission. Specifically, the Entrant shall not use AT&T’s APIs for developing applications that are not used as part of the Submission, nor shall the Entrant attempt to reverse engineer or deconstruct any of AT&T’s APIs, or use any part of the code in any of AT&T’s APIs for any purpose. In the event that an Entrant is found to have used the APIs in a manner not authorized by AT&T, the Entrant will be disqualified, and AT&T reserves its rights to take any legal actions against the Entrant, including (but not limited to) commencing civil and criminal proceedings against the Entrant.
Each Entrant along with the Submission is subject to validation by the judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. By taking part in the Contest, each Entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of the judges and the Sponsor which are final and binding on all aspects of the Contest.
Entrant(s) winning the grand prize will be notified at or about 5:00 pm (Central Eastern time) on 27 October 2018 at Technická Univerzita v Košiciach, Boženy Němcovej 7, 042 00 Košice, Slovak Republic (“Grand Prize Announcement”). The structure of the prizes will be announced on 26 October 2018 prior to commencement of the Contest. All winning entrants must be present at the respective winner announcements or their prize will be forfeited or awarded to another entrant, at the discretion of the sponsor. In the event that the winning submission is submitted by a team, any and all applicable cash prizes will be split evenly among registered team members. The Sponsor are not responsible for any disputes among team members of an Entrant, or between the Entrant and any third parties concerning the prize, prize components or any associated taxes. Any applicable taxes on the prize are the responsibility of at&t and/or the entrant, as required by the applicable legislation. Any other expenses incurred by the Entrant in participating in the Contest that are not stated as part of the prize, including (but not limited to) meals, gratuities, transportation and other incidental charges, are sole responsibilities of the Entrants. There shall be no substitutions or transfers of a prize. Any prizes not claimed within 1 month after the end of the Contest will be forfeited. The Documents must be signed by the Entrant (or each registered member of an Entrant who is a team) within seven (7) days of the respective Winner Announcement or the prize may be forfeited. For the purpose of the Contest, AT&T is responsible for providing funding and/or the US dollar value of the specified product prizes. Coordination of any and all travel and any other expenses incurred by the Entrant in order to attend the Grand Prize Announcement is the sole responsibility of the Entrant. Only the stated number and components of prizes will be awarded.
By entering the Contest, the Entrant warrants and represents that the Entrant (individually or as a team) is the sole creator of the Submission and that the Entrant has obtained all necessary permissions from all persons or companies whose copyright or trademarks are depicted in the Submission, including (but not limited to) all permissions necessary for the Sponsor to publish or use the Submission in any media worldwide for promotional and/or advertising purposes, and agrees to confirm any of the foregoing in writing. Further, by entering the Contest, the Entrant shall indemnify, the Sponsor and its successors, representatives and assigns against any and all actions, claims, including any third party claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from or relating to this Contest, including the Submission and the participation of the Entrant in this Contest, or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize. The Sponsor shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, stolen, misdirected, postage-due, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible entries, communications or submissions, regardless of the method of transmission; (ii) telephone system, telephone or computer hardware, software or other technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections, delays or transmission errors; (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of Submission or other materials; (iv) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by the Entrant’s participation in this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of a prize; or (v) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any materials associated with the Contest. The Sponsor disclaims any liability for damage to any electronic device resulting from participating in, or accessing, uploading or downloading information or the Sponsor’s API(s) not due to the default, omission or negligence caused by the Sponsor in connection with this Contest, and the Sponsor reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest should a virus, bug, computer or phone problem, unauthorized intervention or other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control, corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest. The Sponsor may prohibit the Entrant from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, at their sole discretion, they determine that the Entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or any other unfair playing practices of intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Entrants or any representatives of the Sponsor. CAUTION: Any attempt to deliberately damage the contest, the contest website or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and shall result in disqualification from participation in the contest. Should such an attempt be made, the sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages (including legal fees) to the fullest extent permitted by the law, including criminal prosecution. If the Entrant is a team, and the Sponsor determines at its sole discretion that any single team member has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest, all members of the Entrant may be disqualified, as determined at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Due to the unique nature and scope of this Contest, the Sponsor, acting commercially reasonably, reserves the right to alter or modify these Official Rules at any time.
The Entrant acknowledges that the Sponsor and/or its affiliates (“AT&T”) engages, has engaged and will in the future engage in the development, preparation, production, acquisition and dissemination of creative, educational, artistic and other material (collectively, the “Materials”). The Entrant also acknowledges that other persons, including employees of AT&T, may previously have originated and may hereafter independently originate Materials that are similar or identical to a Submission. The Entrant agrees that it or they will not be entitled to any compensation because of the use by AT&T of any such similar or identical material that is independently created by AT&T. The Entrant agrees that AT&T’s independent development, preparation, production, acquisition, dissemination and/or exploitation of Materials similar or identical to a Submission or containing features, ideas, material and/or elements similar to or identical with those contained in a Submission shall not entitle the Entrant (or any individual comprising the Entrant or any team to which the Entrant belongs) to any compensation or other right or remedy. As an inducement to AT&T to accept each Submission for entry into the contest, the Entrant hereby waives, to the fullest extent permitted by the law, any claim or right of action against AT&T or its successors in connection with AT&T’s use of any independently created Materials (or any portions thereof) whether or not such Materials are similar or identical to a Submission or contain any features, ideas, material and/or elements that are similar or identical to those contained in a Submission. Acceptance by the Sponsor of a Submission is not an admission by AT&T of the novelty or originality of the Submission. Notwithstanding anything in these Official Rules to the contrary, the Entrant shall retain all intellectual property rights they independently created in the performance of the Contest.
In the event of any dispute arising out of or under the Contest or these Official rules, the parties agree to have the matter referred to and finally resolved by the Courts of the Slovak Republic. Entrants agree that these Official Rules are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic.
If any provision(s) of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.
